We all know that the dollar is basically worthless in Europe. Take a look at that 2 year chart of the dollar against the euro. I think they’re burning dollars over there for heat. But that’s not true of all places. For example, there are some Asian countries worth visiting where the dollar is doing just fine. Here are a few worth checking out:

1. Indonesia – If you like the beaches of Thailand but don’t like where the dollar is going against the Thai baht, consider Indonesia and the nice beaches of Bali. One draw back is the terrorist bombing that might happen there. Other than that, the dollar has held up just fine:

2. Korea – Ok, you’re not a beach person and you don’t like to be bombed. You enjoy more of a city life or somewhere less tropical, but Japan is too expensive as the dollar has declined against the Yen lately. How about Korea? You can even get pretty good Japanese food there, and the dollar has actually done very well lately:

3. Vietnam – Last country that I found with a good exchange rate is Vietnam due to a recent surge by the dollar. I haven’t been there yet but I would assume that things are still pretty cheap. The word is that they have great tailors there, so if you want to stock up on some tailored suits and the like, take your dollar there and get the most out of it. Btw, pho is pronouced fuh, not fo.
